When you are banging out calls (or trying to muster the courage to) to your sales prospects, what is your goal while doing so? If you have to think for a second about the goal, you aren't being as effective as you could be and really just wasting your time and your prospects time.
It depends what you are selling and who you are targeting but here are some examples of goals on the initial cold call:
-To determine who the decision maker is and when you can call back to get them
-To talk to the decision maker and set an appointment
-To send out information
-To make a sale
Not only do you need to set a goal on the initial call, a goal needs to be set on every subsiquent call as well. This applies for in person and door to door sales as well.
What goals do you set when making sales calls?
